Funeral services for Loretta Sanders Fuller of the Benevola community were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 at Skelton Funeral Home in Reform with Bro. Jerry Robbins officiating.
She was born April 13, 1938 to the late Kenneth R. Sanders and Ruth Howell Sanders and was a lifelong resident of Benevola. Loretta was a 1956 graduate of Gordo High School and a was a proud majorette in the GHS Band. She worked for Huyck Felt Company from its opening until its closing and later worked for First National Bank in Aliceville, Bryce Hospital and The University of Alabama. She loved her dogs Chloe and Bubba; her flowers and her tomatoes; shopping; dancing; cooking (and was known for her Christmas candy, birthday fudge, sugar cookies, brownies and deviled eggs); and spending time with her family (especially hosting her Christmas Eve gatherings). She was a long-time member of Forest Baptist Church and served as pianist for many years. She was also a wonderful caregiver for her parents and her husbands.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Walter (Buddy) Colvin and Rogers Fuller; and brother Doug Sanders Sr. She died Jan. 22, 2023 at Northport DCH at the age of 84.
Survivors include her nephews Doug Sanders Jr., Benevola, and Roddy Sanders (wife Kim), Gordo; great-niece Chelsey Sanders (husband Brent); great-nephew Cameron Sanders (wife Hannah); great-great-nephew Rush Sanders; great-great-nieces Georgie Sanders and Eloise Sanders, all of Gordo; and several cousins.
Pallbearers were Cameron Sanders, Brent Sanders, Donny Sanders, Mike Allen, Bert Craft and Danny Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Benevola community and Forest Baptist Church and the Gordo Class of 1956.
Burial was at the Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
