AmWaste Increases Rates for the City of Carrollton

The Carrollton City Council held their meet- ing on May 4, 2023. After the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, the minutes were approved with a motion from Councilwoman Terisa Robbins and a second from Councilman Chuck McDaniel. The Council approved to pay the city’s bills with a motion from Councilman McDaniel and a second from Councilman Sherman Mayhew.

The City of Carrollton received a 50/50 match grant for $168,000.00 for the playground at the Farmer’s Market and walking track area. The playground will be a nice addition to the park and will have a fence around it. They are planning to have playground equipment for children up to 12 years old. The playground will include swings for toddlers, swing sets for school-age children, and swings where parents and children can swing together. They are also including a sandbox for children to play in. The playground will be handicapped accessible. The city will take bids on the work for this project. The Council passed a resolution that the city will be willing to match their part of the grant. The resolution passed with a motion from Councilman Freddie Lowe and a second from Councilman Phillip Trull.
