Pickens County Board of Education Audit Report Revealed Finances Correct and in Proper Order

The Pickens County Board of Education held its monthly meet- ing on June 12, 2023, at the Central Office. After the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, the Board approved the minutes with a motion from Board member Dr. John Brandon and a second from Board member Gene Dawkins. The May minutes were approved with a motion from Board member Dr. Brandon and a second from Board member Sam Wiggins.

The audit report was given by Mrs. Shelley Patrenos, State Auditor.

“We did issue an unmodified opinion on your financial statements, which means that your financial statements are correct and tests performed during the audit did not display any significant instances of noncompliance with applicable state and local regulations and, in short, it means we didn’t have any findings in the report,” said Patrenos. “We also issued an unmodified opinion on the Covid-19 Education Stabilization Fund. No problems were found with these funds either.”
