The Pickens County Board of Commissioners held a regular scheduled meeting September 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Commissioner Nancy Ray and a second provided by Commissioner Jody McGee. The motion was approved.
The meeting then moved to new business. Commissioner Drew Elmore made a motion to authorize Chairwoman Jill Noland to sign the resolution renewing participation in the ACCA Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Fund (WCSIF) and the Longevity Bonus Program. Commissioner Patti Fuller seconded the motion and the motion was approved.
Commissioner Fuller made a motion to authorize $70,040.77 premium payment to ACCA WCSIF from the payroll fund. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner Ray made a motion to approve increasing the cap on health insurance coverage from$1,397.00 to $1,467.00 per employee per month, effective December 1, 2024. Commissioner Elmore seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner McGee made a motion to approve the purchase of 2023 police Interceptor from Wade Ford for $46,505. The Sheriff will cover the up-fitting costs. Commissioner Fuller seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner Elmore made a motion to approve the purchase of three (3) handheld radios and one (1) in-car radio for $3170.00 from Teletech. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner Ray made a motion to approve Pro-Clean to clean, degrease, and seal the jail kitchen and pantry for $6,520.00. Commissioner Fuller seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner McGee made a motion to approve a $200.00 payment to each Circuit Clerk Court Specialist (3) for assisting with absentee election duties when the total number of absentee ballots exceeds 350. Commissioner Elmore seconded the motion, and it was approved.
There was one item of old business from the previous Commissioners meeting. Commissioner Elmore made a motion to award the bid for the Transfer Station truck scale from Birmingham Toledo, Inc. for $109,225.00. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner Elmore made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
