CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting was held on March 8, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Drew Elmore.

A motion was made by Commissioner Bobby Bain and seconded by Commissioner Bobby Ingram to ap- prove the consent agenda. The motion was approved.

CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Commissioners meeting was held on January 11, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Drew Elmore. Commissioner Bobby Ingram was not in attendance.
A motion was made by Commissioner Mark Gray and seconded by Commissioner Bobby Bain to approve the consent agenda. The motion was approved.

 

Commission approves purchase of $15,000 server from appraisal revenue funds

The Pickens County Commission meeting on April 23rd was short and sweet, as usual, with the biggest change being that Representative Bobby Bain took over as commission chairman for Commissioner Mark Gray.

The commission began by discussing new business, where they approved the hire of Katherine Thomas as appraisal clerk, which is effective as of May 6th. Commissioner Drew Elmore made the motion to appoint Thomas, which was seconded by Jerry Fitch. The motion passed unanimously.

The Pickens County Commission meeting on February 26, 2019 began with commissioner Jerry Fitch making a motion to add an item to the agenda regarding changing the name of the Sapps Community Center to Sapps Multi-Purpose Center, Inc. However, Commission Administrator Cheryl Bowles said that the commission would not need to vote on the name change.

Commission: Property taxes to remain same

The Pickens County Commission held an uneventful and brief meeting last Tuesday night, including a delay on a decision about a real property appraiser, no change in property taxes, and a name change for the Sapps Communit Center.

Meeting for about 15 minutes on Feb. 12, the session began with the Commission agreeing to keeping the 2019 property tax rates the same as last year.
