Clifton Pate

Clifton Pate, age 80, of Carrollton, AL, died March 29, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services were 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Thomas Shep- herd, Bro. A. L. Henderson, and his son, David Pate, officiating. Burial followed in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clarence Pate. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wilda Rickman Pate; sons, Mike Pate (Cheri) of Reform, Charlie Pate of Carrollton, David Pate (Connie) of Kentucky and Jon Pate (Jennifer) of Cordova; two brothers, Alton Pate (Ethel) and Jerry Pate (Susan); grandchildren, Jason (Savannah), Brittany, Megan (Corey Hudson), Jeremy (Kaleigh), Bethani (David Carr), Rebekah (Jared Ison), Brooke (Bradley Mitchell), Hannah (Michael Harris), Blake and Grant; great-grandchildren, Libby, Luke, Lydia, Layton, Ayden, Ansley, John David, Ollie and Everette and a number of nieces and nephews.  Clifton Pate was born July 28, 1944, in York, Alabama, to the late Comer Pate and Lucile Alexander Pate. He was a former logger and Pastor at Aliceville Church of God of Prophecy for 36 years, with a total of 44 years of service in the ministry. Pallbearers were Jason Pate, Jeremy Pate, Blake Pate, Jerry King, Terry Pate, David Carr, Michael Harris, and Jared Ison. Honorary Pallbearers are Aliceville Church of God of Prophecy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to Gideons International, Pickens Co. Camp, P.O. Box 287, Carrollton, AL 35447.
