AN ORDINANCE REGULATING FLEA MARKETS AND TEMPORARY MARKET OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
SECTION 1. PURPOSE AND INTENT
The purpose of this Ordinance is to regulate the establishment and operation of flea markets, open-air markets, and similar temporary or recurring sales events within the City of Aliceville to ensure public safety, cleanliness, fair trade practices, and compatibility with surrounding land uses, while encouraging local entrepreneurship and community engagement.
SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the interested public that a public hearing will be held on the 26th day of February, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at City Hall of Aliceville, located at 419 Memorial Parkway N.E., Aliceville, Alabama, by the City of Aliceville Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a request to operate a home occupation at 705 2nd Avenue S.E., Aliceville, Alabama 35442, located in an R-3 Residential Zone, by Jones Pressure Washing, LLC (Owner: Derrick Jones).

The City of Aliceville will consider a request to issue a Special Event Seven (7) Day License for on-premises alcohol consumption to Top Dawgz Kennel, LLC for an event “Denim & Boots Party”  to be held at 535 Memorial Parkway N.W., Aliceville, Alabama 35442.
This request will be considered at the City Council meeting on February 10, 2026.
Issuance of the license shall be conditional upon approval of all processes and procedures required by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and the City of Aliceville Alcohol Ordinance.

The City of Aliceville is accepting sealed bids for the removal and replacement of three (3) existing pedestrian bridges located at the intersection of 3rd Avenue N.W. and 5th Street N.W., near the railroad track and the Park Cameron Building.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on February 24, 2026.

The City of Aliceville, Alabama, is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified architectural firms to provide professional architectural services for the design of a Police and Fire Station.

The selected firm will provide professional engineering services, which may include, but are not limited to: municipal engineering consultation, project design, construction administration, infrastructure planning, and review of development plans, as required by the City.

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a Municipal Election for the City of Aliceville, Alabama will be held for the purpose of electing a Mayor; a Councilmember, District #1; a Councilmember, District #2; a Councilmember, District  #3; a Councilmember, District #4; and a Councilmember, District #5.  All candidates must have resided within the municipality for at least ninety (90) days prior to Election Day, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of the City of Aliceville, Alabama.
