Aliceville Mayor and Chief of Police hosts Q&A forum for the citizens of Aliceville

The Aliceville Police Chief Tonie Jones and Mayor Terrence Windham held a Q & A forum on Monday, June 28, 2021. The meeting gave an update on the violence that has been going on in the community and answered questions submitted by citizens
 Jones said, “There will never be a day again where you can sleep with your doors or windows unlocked. We live in a time now where people will break into your house while you are there.” He urged residents to lock their doors.

 

Sheriff's Office reports to Ethelsville area resulting in three arrests

On June 25th, 2021 Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity in the Ethelsville area.  Investigation led Deputies to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of two vehicles that had been used in the commission of felony crimes.  Deputies were able to recover stolen property that had been taken from mailboxes in Mississippi.Samuel Varner, Stephen Knight and Daniel Gordey all of Columbus, Mississippi were all arrested on the scene.

MACEDONIA-The Pickens County Sheriff’s deputies has concluded a week-long investigatino into a kidnapping that happened in the Macedonia Community.
The Sheriff’s office recieved a call on June 11, 2021 that a passing motorist witnessed a woman being beaten by a man in the Macedonia Community off County Road 75.

A joint operation with the Pickens County Sheriff's Office results in nine arrests.

PICKENS COUNTY-Occuring on June 23, 2021, Aliceville Police Department, Carrollton Police Department, Gordo Police Department, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and Reform Police Department were conducting a saturation patrol.
The focus on the operation was to patrol in locations where the departments received numerous complaints from citizens in areas focused in the central and southern parts of the county.
