The Pickens County Board of Education met on Monday, July 13, 2020 and again on Friday, July 17th to discuss the opening of schools.
While going with the initial start date of August 13, 2020 at Monday’s meeting, the board decided on Friday to delay school approximately one week, with students on Schedule A to begin on August 19th and those on Schedule B returning on August 20th, while virtual students begin on August 17th and 18th.
In order to have as few students as possible in the schools at the same time, the board decided to have traditional/blended students be on campus either Monday and Wednesday (Plan A) or Tuesday and Thursday (Plan B), with no students at the campuses on Fridays.
