CARROLLTON - Pickens Academy defeated Snook Christian 40-0 on Friday night to get off to the school’s best start since 2013.
The jumped out to an early 20-0 lead behind a pair of touchdowns by Chandler Box and a score by Lane Goodman and never looked back, en route to a big win.
“We started putting younger guys in after the first quarter,” PA Coach Scotty Pennington said. “I think we could have scored a lot more, but we just kind of slowed it down a little bit. They (Snook) were having a lot of injuries.”
The teams went to a running clock in the third quarter and the fourth quarter was played with only six minutes.
It was determined that the Sparta Academy cancellation was deemed a forfeit by Sparta, giving the Pirates a 1-0 victory.
