REFORM- The Reform City Council meeting took place on September 20, 2022. Mayor Melody Davis called the meeting to order. Council member Richard Richardson was not in attendance.
The council approved the minutes of the September 6, 2022, meeting and the payables.
In old business, the council approved the budget proposal for 2022-2023.
“Also, I wanted to announce that I spoke with someone from Alabama Power. They said that they have a promotion going on where they would be able to swap the street lights we have now for LED lighting. She said that she would get back to me about it.” Announced Mayor Davis.
In new business, the council discussed a request made by Carol Skelton for a variance. Annette Maughan announced that Carol Skelton had bought property in Harper Hills with eight plots. Two plots now have houses, and Skelton requested that the council give her a variance on the setbacks. Mayor Davis said she did not see any harm in granting her request. The council motioned to accept the variance of reducing the setback by ten in that subdivision.
