ALICEVILLE- The Aliceville City Council meeting took place on March 22, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrence Windham. Councilmembers Talya Ball and Rebecca Gilliam were not in attendance.
The council approved the minutes of the last meeting.
The meeting began with unfinished business. The council approved the parade permit request for the April 8, 2023, Love You More (Kidney Walk) that will begin at 10:00 am. The 5K will start at the library, go through town, through the park, and circle back around off of 9th Street.
In new business, the council approved the parade permit for Melvin Gatewood with American Legion.
“For the last few years, they have done a walk with Sargeant Tommy Little. This walk will be Operation Continued Service to honor the veterans that have passed on and in recognition of them. This will be done on April 29, 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.” Announced Mayor Windham.
Next, the council approved receiving the bid from CJLC Taylor Construction Company LLC of $39,800 to repair the window seal in City Hall to prevent water leakage.
