Aliceville Council Approves Multiple Resolutions

ALICEVILLE- The Aliceville City Council meeting occurred on May 24, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrence Windham. Council members Rebecca Gilliam and Thomas Wilkins were not in attendance.

The council approved the minutes of the May 9, 2023, meeting.

In unfinished business, Mayor Windham reported the Revenue Commissioner had sent information on the millage rate. The City of Aliceville has the second highest millage rate in the county. 1 mill will increase the revenue by approximately $14K-16K. He noted the millage rate can only be increased with a vote of the people.
