The City of Aliceville Water and Sewer Board, Chairman Bobby Ingram, Aliceville City Council, and Mayor Terrence Windham will hold a public hearing on October 11, 2023, at Aliceville City Hall, located at 419 Memorial Parkway NE, Aliceville, AL, in the Council Room. The public hearing for an ADEM Drinking Water State Revolving Fund grant application will be held at 5:30 PM.
Information will be presented regarding the submission of the grant funding application to support the project for Aliceville’s drinking water system. Activities eligible for this funding include improvement of public works. No displacement of persons will be proposed.
The City is proposing the installation of a new water well (Snoddy Well No.2) and treatment facility, all to be located at the site of the City’s existing Snoddy Well No.1, off 4th Ave SW, Aliceville. The project activities are aimed at restoring capacity within the City’s drinking water system, in order to provide adequate quantities of safe, potable water to the municipal and prison populations supported by Aliceville water supply. The project cost is estimated at $930,000.
An Environmental Information Document (EID) has been developed for the project. It is available for review at Aliceville City Hall, Aliceville Water and Sewer Board located at 311 3rd Ave NW, in Aliceville, and at the Public Hearing. Comments regarding the EID will be received at the public hearing or in writing to the Board Chairman or Mayor no later than the date of the hearing.
