The Gordo town council meeting on Monday, February, 4th began with Gordo Fire Chief Sam Powell giving a monthly report. Powell said the fire department had received 17 or 18 calls during the month of January and gave report on a recent automobile accident in Gordo.
“I don’t know if ya’ll were aware, but we had a pretty terrible automobile accident about three weeks ago on a Sunday night, where two vehicles hit head on,” Powell said. “We had an entrapment in both of them and as soon we got on the scene, we requested Reform and Air Evac. A little car, hit an F-150, so you can imagine that is wasn’t good.”
Powell went on to report that a female involved in the accident was airlifted to a local hospital, while the male driving the F-150 was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. Both had several broken bones, but are recovering since the accident.
