At the Aliceville City Council meeting on Mar. 28, council members heard from committee spokesman, Donny Sanders, regarding the committee’s recommendation for a new full-time Chamber-City Liaison Director and Industrial Recruiter.
The committee consisted of two City Council members, two Chamber of Commerce members, and two Industrial Board members to find a recommendation for the new position. “Thanks to your leadership,” Sanders told the council, “we have moved quickly on this. Y’all saw the need here a couple of meetings ago and empowered the committee to get together and to make some recommendations.”
“Our first mission was to develop a job description,” Sanders continued. “We realized pretty quickly this particular position required a lot of skill in different areas, and the skills to run the chamber were not necessarily complimentary to the skills to recruit new industry.”
