STARKVILLE - Jane Loretta (Burke) Ammerman died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 10 in Starkville. She was born November 27, 1923 in Dugger, Indiana and was the daughter of Jack and Annie Burke.
She attended elementary and high school in Dugger schools, where she met her future husband, Gale, in the seventh grade.
She married “the love of her life” during World War II on September 26, 1943. She remained in Dug- ger, working in the family country store until reunited with her husband at the end of the war.
