Four Aliceville Teachers and One Police Officer Arrested for Child Sex Abuse Material-Related Crimes

Four teachers within the Pickens County School System and one Aliceville Police Officer have been arrested recently for child sex abuse material- related crimes. Three Aliceville High School teachers and one Aliceville Elementary School teacher are among those arrested.

The Pickens County Board of Education held its monthly meeting on February 18, 2026, at Aliceville Elementary School.

The Board was welcomed by Aliceville Elementary School students and enjoyed an entertaining perform- ance by the 5 th and 6 th Grade Elementary Student Band. The students did a fabulous job playing upbeat music and received a standing ovation from the audience.

Aliceville High School Teacher Arrested for Child Pornography

A math teacher at Al- iceville High School was arrested last week and is in the Pickens County Jail after being charged with Child Pornography. Roderick Granger, age 41, was booked by the Aliceville Police Department on January 30, 2026, with possession of Child Pornography, dissemination of Child Pornography, and solicitation of Child Pornography. He is being held on a one- million-dollar bond.

The Pickens County Board of Education held its monthly meeting on October 21, 2024. After the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, Board Chairman Annie Jackson called the meeting to order. The first order of business was to approve the agenda. It was approved with a motion from Board member Gene Dawkins and a second from Board member Dr. John Brandon.
