BY BRIAN HAMILTON Managing Editor brian@pcherald.com COVID-19 vaccines are more readily available in Pickens County that ever, with a number of healthcare providers and pharmacies offering free vaccines. Appointments can be made to get the vaccine at Gentry Drugs, Dr. Robbins and Dr. Parker’s office in Aliceville; Dr. Boothe’s office in Reform, or the Pickens County Health Department in Carrollton. “We started at the end of February and as of today, we’ve given close to 1,200 total,” said Phil Gentry of Gentry Drugs. “A lot of those are follow ups (for the second dose), but we’ve had probably about 700 patients.” As of Monday, April 5, anyone over 16 years of age can take the vaccine.
