CARROLLTON - On Sunday, January 17, 2021, Pickens County Sheriff’s Deputy Dana Elmore and Carrollton Police Officer Derrick Jones responded to a call of an two-week old infant not breathing.
The officers acted swiftly, as Jones began to perform CPR on the baby until it began to breathe again.
“I’m very thankful for my training,” Jones said. “The administrators are very hard here on training and making sure we get it.”
On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Sheriff Todd Hall presented Jones and Elmore with a Life Saving Award at the jail.
