Candidates Qualify for Municipal Elections in Each Town in Pickens County

The qualifying dead- line for Pickens County’s 2025 Munici- pal Elections has passed. The elections will be held August 26, 2025, for mayor and city council members in each town.

There will not be an election in Pickensville because no candidates are opposed.

In Carrollton, only the seat on the city council in District 4 will have a race. Briget Stanfill is running against incumbent Councilman Phillip Trull.

In the City of Reform, the only race in the election will be for mayor. The two candidates for mayor are incumbent Mayor Melody Davis and Robin “Rob” McDougle. All seats on the city council are unopposed.

In Gordo, there are three candidates for mayor. Randy Dillard, Robin Edgeworth, and Drew Thomas Patterson are the candidates who will be on the ballot for mayor. Only District 4 on the city council will have a race. James Davis and Jason Miller will be on the ballot for city councilman in District 4. All other districts have unopposed candidates.

In Aliceville, there will be elections for mayor and all city councilman seats except for District 1, where Thomas Wilkins is unopposed. Marva Gipson, Christopher Lewis, and incumbent Mayor Terrance Windham will be on the ballot for mayor in Aliceville. In District 2, Councilwoman Tayla Ball and Ashley Showers will be on the ballot. Linda Spencer-Gosa and Stephen Thomas are the candidates for the city council in District 3. The race for District 4 Councilman will be between Lafayette Jordan and Frederick Woods. District 5 has three candidates which include Jackie Jones, Mary Rice, and Shannon M. Turner-Wilder. The newly elected mayors and councilmen will take office on the first Monday of November 2025, which this year will be November 3rd. Poles will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 26th.
